- Marc Priestley
Marc Priestley spent almost a decade at the front line of the McLaren Formula One Team’s operations,
predominantly as a race mechanic and member of the pitstop crew.
He’s worked with a glittering array of drivers from the likes of Mika Hakkinen, David Coulthard and Kimi
Raikkonen, to Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton and progressed through the business to become an instrumental leader in their successes.
Today Marc’s moved into the media side of the sport and spends his time covering F1 for Sky Sports and presents digital coverage of the FIA Formula E Championship, the world’s 1st fully electric race series. Within
Formula E, he’s also working with Roborace, the worlds 1st electric, A.I. based, driverless racecar series.
As a result, Marc has two main strands of talk.
His F1 experience means he’s perfectly placed to talk about topics like teamwork; attention to detail;
dealing with immense pressure; brand image and marketing and weighing up the considerable risk
against reward in each of these key areas. Using real life examples, you’ll hear stories of innovation,
continuous improvement, marginal gains and incredible teamwork.
Separately, having been part of Formula E’s ground breaking journey since the beginning, he’s well aware
of the challenges and obstacles that disruptive beliefs and technologies face…and more importantly, how to overcome them. Marc’s inspirational talk in this area encourages individuals and teams to think outside the box. The most innovative and market leading companies foster working environments where teams feel comfortable enough to take risks and develop their ideas without being overwhelmed by fear of failure and Marc’s real life experience in these areas, together with his passion for futuristic technology really gets the
message across in a fascinating and entertaining way.
